Tourist Card
Conference attendees who meet the following criteria DO NOT need a Tourist Card to enter Suriname:
  • Holders of CARICOM passports
  • Residents of the Netherlands Antilles with Dutch passports
  • Nationals from the Bahamas, Brazil, Cuba, Philippines, Gambia, Israel, Malaysia, Singapore, and South Korea
Tourists who meet the following criteria can obtain a tourist card to enter Suriname:
  • Nationals of the Netherlands, France, Canada, USA, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela
  • Individuals with Surinamese origins can obtain a tourist card
A Tourist Card is easy to obtain at the airport and costs $25.00 USD. To apply for a Tourist Card, visitors need a valid passport and a return airline ticket.

Conference attendees who do not meet any of the above criteria must apply for a visa at the closest Surinamese embassy or consulate.

We are pleased to announce that Surinam Airways has agreed to be our conference carrier! The city of Paramaribo is this airline’s home base, and the following are its destinations cities: Amsterdam, Aruba, Belem, CuraƧao, Georgetown, Miami, and Port of Spain.

Surinam Airways has offered additional support for the conference for each participant who books her/his flight with this airline.     Conference participants interested in sightseeing in and around Paramaribo and its coastal districts can take advantage of widely available and reasonably priced taxi services. Please note that Suriname taxis DO NOT use meters. More information about taxi services will be available at hotels’ reception desks. For traveling to the interior, we recommend that participants contact one of the many tour operators available in Paramaribo.
